The cabinetmaker's job

The cabinetmaker's duty is to suply the customer with unique, and biutiful peices of furniture carved with a skilled hand. The success of cabinetmaking was so great that by the mid 18th century only one third of their furniture was imported from England. The skilled cabinetmaker could make; chairs, tables, bookcases, dressers, nightstands, desks, and instuments.

My tradesman

Peter Scott is the earliest documented cabinetmaker who appeared on records in 1722. Sevan masters operated shops at that time. One of the largest and progressive shops was Anthony Hay's. In the wintertime the bright sunshine reflecting of the fresh fallen snow was a cheery sight to the workers. By Sara .H
